Final Fantasy

Wind up Ixion plush

This is my dumpy little version of the Final Fantasy XIV Wind-up Ixion minion. I’ve nicknamed him the potato/popoto pony. Ixion is made from minky fabric and faux fur for the most part. The horn was air-dry clay with a wire down the centre that extends right into the body so it’s nice and secure. It does make him very top heavy though, so the body has been weighed down with plastic pallets in the legs and then stuffed as usual with polyester stuffing. The eyes are some spare plastic safety eyes that I hadn’t used that were painted with acrylic and then sealed with polyurethane varnish. The acrylic paint will easily scratch off the surface of the plastic eyes […]

Fenrir Pup plushie – Final Fantasy XIV

My first Final Fantasy XIV minion plush! Fenrir pup is so soft since it’s made almost entirely out of faux fur. The fur was new at the supplier I tend to get my teddy bear furs and fabrics from and was just perfect for this little guy. Unfortunately the faux fur is now no longer sold so it’s unlikely I’ll be able to make another 🙁 Fenrir pup has a short pile blue and purple faux furs for the body and a 60mm long pile white faux fur for the mane, tail and trim. The chest is the same faux fur as the longer stuff. It was such good quality I could cut it short and it was sill really […]

Alte Roite plush

I haven’t finished anything since I started playing Final Fantasy XIV (there may be a connection there). There are a couple of minions that take my fancy but actually the first Final Fantasy XIV plush I’ve made is Alte Roite, the angry hate noodle from Omega Deltascape V1. If you’re like several members of my Free Company, it will also be the only Omega Savage raid that you can complete. Alte is made from minky and trims of faux fur. Wire runs through the body and wings allowing some posing. I didn’t go for an open mouth as it’s really difficult to get it right, so sticky out tongue it is. It’s ended up more cute than terrifying but it […]

Feathered chocobo plushies

Realistic chocobo plush

UPDATE OCT 2020: I’m hoping to have some chocobos ready for Christmas. Please keep an eye on the webshop (https://www.owlsteaparty.com/shop/) or Twitter (https://twitter.com/owlsteaparty) Several pictures of my feathered chocobo plushies. I’ve just realised that I didn’t post them on this site so here are some pictures of the last two I’ve made: a standard yellow chocobo and the black chocochick from Final Fantasy XV. Hopefully I’ll be making a few of the yellow chocobo to sell before Christmas but it will depend on how much time I have. They’re mostly fairly simple to make but sewing, wiring and stuffing the legs is fiddly and time consuming.

Zemzelett plush (FF9)

[Edit 11th Dec 2017 – Zemzelett is up for sale at https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/561580188/zemzelett-plush-final-fantasy-9] Finished another personal project to make a Zemzelett from Final Fantasy 9. If you don’t remember what one is, don’t feel bad. It’s a minor enemy that appears in the owl forest surrounding the Black Mage Village. Zemzelett is a telekinetic owl that just looked so grumpy and cute that I wanted one for myself. Getting some clear reference photos was difficult, so the Rɘverse FF9 model viewer was so helpful to me. It meant that I could load up the 3D model of any FF9 monster and get a good look at some of the detail that would have been completely missed if I was relying on blurry […]

Malboro plush – Kingsglaive Malboro Mascot

A cutsie malboro that appears in advertising in Final Fantasy: Kingsglaive for the brand MBS. He’s one of my favourites and just looks so cute in the palm of your hand in person. All those tentacles mean that he’ll perch on pretty much anything – and has adorned the top of our Christmas tree for a few years now. Since I had some spare eyes, I’ve made a second to sell, along with some photos in a better light: https://www.owlsteaparty.com/product/malboro-plush/

Baby paleberry plush – World of Final Fantasy

Baby Paleberry plush

Wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve had the chance to post. I haven’t had time to do much sewing or blogging lately because of the rush over Christmas and then all of the aftermath. I’ve had loads of people get in touch over Christmas either for commissions or for Trico plushes/plush pattern. I’ll reiterate here that I don’t take commissions of existing or new plushes – I don’t have the time to fulfil any- and that I wont be selling or giving away my Trico plush pattern. While I try to email everyone back who gets in touch, I’ve been really busy lately and if the subject of the message was either of these topics then this is why I […]

Final Fantasy XV moogle plush template and tutorial

Plush moogle doll

You will need: Minky/plush or fleece fabric in the following colours: White (lots) Pink Red Pale blue Purple Orange Thick black embroidery thread Polyester stuffing (optional) Plastic pellets/Poly pellets to add to stuffing Sewing template pieces: Download the sewing template/pattern Plushie tutorial: Body: Attach the blue circle to the front of the body Use the thick embroidery thread to add the “stitching” details. These aren’t actually holding anything together, they’re for aesthetics only. Sew the body together and leave the neck open. If using poly pellets, start with a few handfuls of the pellets. This makes the plush bottom-heavy which helps it sit up and gives it a pleasant weight. Then fill the rest with polyester stuffing. Head: Assemble the four head […]

Moogle mayhem

I’ve been making loads of moogles lately, kupo. Even though most of my time has been spent playing World of Final Fantasy, kupo. Only one of these is for sale currently, but more will be available soon. First is a big moogle plush. This is made of luxury faux fur and a little bit of minky for details like wings and footpads. It’s insanely soft and really cuddly. It was intented for sale, but my partner wont let me get rid of him! So I’ll have to make another to keep first and then sell this guy. [Edit 11th Dec 2017 – This plush moogle is up for sale at https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/480424744/luxury-final-fantasy-moogle-teddy-bear] Next is a small plush based on the moogle […]
